Fresh Water Initiative Fraud Alert!

Remember this joyful event when Masjid al-Noor (BAM3) officially opened in January? This week we received an urgent call from Kachulu village officials that they had just chased off a camera crew and speaker from a Turkish charitable organization posing in front of this well, saying they had installed it. In Uganda, we are now advising all our donor fund recipients to be vigilant and, if possible, to document fraud activity with photos/video clips so we can expose scams.

This is one of the main reasons Sufilive and HNCS are so transparent about how donor funds are spent: donors are suspicious of scams for good reason. We and our partners do this blessed work to please Allah, not for money, and we consider every donation a sacred trust. In addition, our partner, Bugisu Muslim Development Centre, is listed on the Uganda registry of certified charitable organizations, and obeys all laws.
