THE GOOD NEWS
Alhamdulillah, we congratulate Team Uganda for completing eight solid wall well orders before Ramadan! 🏆🏆🏆. That’s eight villages totalling more than fifteen hundred people who benefit day and night from fresh water, and donors who take #baraka on every drop! If you donate a well or well repairs this Ramadan, you will receive seventy times more baraka, although construction will begin after Eid.

EVEN MORE GOOD NEWS!
The Uganda government ordered the Financial Intelligence Authority to audit our partner organization, BUGISU MUSLIM DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, whom they found to be a role model of Best Practices! 🎉🎉🎉 Their NGO certification has since been renewed. Now for the bad news….

FRAUD ALERT

The government informed us of the overwhelming fraud regarding mosque and well construction, particularly during Ramadan and Eid. Con artists collect charitable donations but do not complete the work, or they build one structure and change signage to appear as multiple projects, or they take photos of mosques built by legitimate sources. They photograph a well and simply repaint it a different color several times to appear as multiple wells. They also alter media of legitimate organizations and put their logo. The government will issue an updated list of certified Uganda NGOs in late May and we will share the link.
